There is no reference to the Alhambra as being a residence of kings until the 13th century, even though the fortress had existed since the 9th century. The first kings of Granada, the Zirites, had their castles and palaces on the hill of the Albaicin, and nothing remains of them. The Nasrites were probably the emirs who built the Alhambra, starting in 1238.

 Ingredients:

If we speak about person, this expression means that he/she is very entertaining, somebody with who have great time. We can use it like this: X is the bomb (X is the name of the person we are refering to).

The real origin of this expression comes from Holy writing  and in its original format, (in latín), it would be: “Nolite dare sanctum canibus neque mittatis margaritas vestras ante porcos, ne forte conculcent eas pedibus suis et conversi dirumpant vos. (Matthaeum 7:6)”, what we could translate in English with “Don’t give an holy thing to a dog, don’t throw your pearl in front of a pig, it could trample it”.

The discover of America
 One of the most significant dates during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs was 12th October 1492: the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus.

- 1,5 Kg.of potatoes
- Bot chive

- Blood sausage. A piece per person
- Chorizo.  A piece per person
- Cured ham (from the  Alpujarras)
- 4 sweet pepper

If you hear this Spanish expression, don’t take its literal signification, because in 99,99% of cases, the one who uses it doesn’t refer to the pito (a pito is a whistle, the same that use the  referee) or to flute.

Nowadays, we say that someone “ha dado en el clavo” (hit the nail) when he resolvesan enigma, he gives a right answer or when he reacts correctly. .
